Theatre & Creative Industries Pathways

We are currently developing a Theatre and Creative Industries Pathways programme to tackle social and economic exclusion by creating opportunities for young people, aged 16 – 25, to gain experience of working in theatre and other creative industries.  Based on a successful model that has been running in Hackney for five years, the programme gives young people who are not in education, employment or training the opportunity to learn transferrable job skills through work placement, careers advice and training sessions.

'The Theatre Pathways programme offers a fantastic grounding in the theatre. It gives young people facing exclusion a real chance to demonstrate their talent. Many young people from my constituency have acquired skilld through Theatre Pathways and gone on to rewarding careers in the creative industries." (David Lammy, Minister for Higher Education).

Arts Awards

We are also currently training ourselves – to enable us to offer the Arts Award to the young people taking part in our programmes.

Run by the Arts Council England, the Arts Award is a nationally accredited qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the national qualifications framework.
