During the summer 2008, we also ran two youth theatres for young people, designed to raise confidence and communication skills, across two very deprived urban housing estates, where over 70% of resident young people are affected by extreme income deprivation. 28 young people took part, creating and producing two shows which were then presented at Hoxton Hall at the end of the summer. Post project evaluation forms showed that 72% of participants felt the project had greatly increased their confidence and communication skills, and several have gone on to regularly attend our community theatre classes.
