Icon Theatre aims to transform disadvantaged lives through the performing arts.
 
We work predominantly with local children and ‘hard to reach’ young people, who have often experienced severe income deprivation, spent time in care, speak English as a second language, have refugee or recent migrant status, or are disabled.  Many of our young adults are at risk of exclusion, some have already been excluded and many remain not in education, employment or training (NEET).

We run a broad range of performing arts activities, designed to increase confidence and communication skills, or target and explore difficult issues with which participants are battling. These activities include Estate Based Youth Theatre, weekly classes in local community centres, after-school drama clubs, a Play-in-a-Day programme for schools and issue based workshops for youth clubs, schools and drop in centres.
